Biography
John Shier is a natural history cinematographer specialising in wildlife sequences. He has contributed to several BBC series, including four episodes of Planet Earth II (2016) as cinematographer.
His other credits include Untamed Americas (2012), Wild Yellowstone (2015), additional photography on Our Planet (2019) and director of photography on Dynasties (2018). He is based in Livingston, Montana, and has worked extensively in remote locations for clients including the BBC, National Geographic and Netflix.
Shier has received a Primetime Emmy and multiple BAFTA awards and nominations for his work.
