Biography
John Solomon is an American writer and producer. He was born on 23 May 1970 in Omaha, Nebraska, and began his comedy career performing improv at The Groundlings in Los Angeles.
Solomon wrote for Saturday Night Live from 2006 to 2014, serving as co-writing supervisor in his final season. He is the writing partner of comedian Will Forte and collaborated with him on the screenplay for the 2010 film MacGruber and the 2021 television series of the same name, as well as on Extreme Movie (2008).
He worked as a writer, director and producer on the series The Last Man on Earth (2015–2018). His other credits include writing for I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson (2019–2023), A.P. Bio (2018), Bless the Harts (2019–2021) and The Chair Company (2025).
