Biography
John Tinker is an American television writer and producer. He began his career as a writer on the NBC medical drama St. Elsewhere (1982–1988), for which he shared a 1986 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series.
He has written for series including Chicago Hope (1994), The Practice (1997), L.A. Law (1986) and Judging Amy (1999), which he co-created. Tinker developed the Hallmark Channel series Chesapeake Shores (2016) and served as showrunner and writer on When Calls the Heart (2014) for its eighth and ninth seasons. He also wrote the Hallmark Hall of Fame film Love Locks (2017).
Tinker is the son of television executive Grant Tinker and the brother of producer Mark Tinker.
