Biography
John Tomerlin (1930–2014) was an American screenwriter and author. He wrote episodes for numerous television series from the late 1950s onwards, including Wanted: Dead or Alive, Lawman (eleven episodes) and The Twilight Zone.
He adapted Charles Beaumont's short story "The Beautiful People" for the 1964 Twilight Zone episode "Number 12 Looks Just Like You". His other credits include episodes of Thriller, Richard Diamond, Private Detective and S.W.A.T. (1975), and the screenplay for the 1973 television film The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Tomerlin studied television and radio broadcasting at the University of Southern California and began working as a full-time freelance writer in 1956. He also wrote novels and collaborated with Beaumont on Run From the Hunter (1957, under the pseudonym Keith Grantland).
