Biography
John Trumper was a British film editor. Born on 7 March 1923 in Plymouth, Devon, he trained at the Crown Film Unit after army service during the Second World War, beginning as a positive cutter before progressing to editor on documentaries and shorts.
He worked extensively on feature films in the 1960s and 1970s, including The Italian Job (1969), Get Carter (1971), The Pied Piper (1972), And Then There Were None (1974) and To the Devil a Daughter (1976). Trumper regarded Get Carter as the best film he edited. His credits also include earlier work such as The Face of Fu Manchu (1965). He died on 13 February 2004 in London.
