Biography

John Vivyan (1915–1983) was an American actor known for his work in film and television. Born John R. Vukayan in Chicago, Illinois, he trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and began appearing on stage in the late 1940s before moving into screen roles.

His film credits include an uncredited part in Alfred Hitchcock's The Wrong Man (1956) and the role of Young Man in Douglas Sirk's Imitation of Life (1959). He is best known for starring as the title character, a gambler, in the CBS series Mr. Lucky (1959–1960). Vivyan also appeared in numerous television series, particularly Westerns, and had a leading role in the 1962 film Rider on a Dead Horse.
