Biography

John Warburton was a British actor who appeared in numerous Hollywood films from the 1930s to the 1960s and in television series. He began his career on the stage, making his Broadway debut in Bird in Hand (1930). His screen work started with Secrets of the French Police (1932).

Warburton is known for his role as Edward Marryot in the film Cavalcade (1933). Other film credits include Saratoga Trunk (1945), King Rat (1965) and From the Terrace (1960). On television he appeared in episodes of Perry Mason (1957), Gunsmoke (1955) and Star Trek (1966), as well as numerous episodes of Fireside Theater.

He trained at Oxford University and served in the British military. Warburton died in Sherman Oaks, California, in 1981.
