Biography
Johnny Brown (also credited as John Brown) was an American actor, comedian and singer. He appeared as Sam the Piano Player in an episode of the series Moonlighting (1985).
Brown was best known for his recurring role as building superintendent Nathan Bookman on the sitcom Good Times (1975–1979). He was a regular cast member on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In and appeared in guest roles on series including The Jeffersons, Family Matters, Sister, Sister, Martin and Kenan & Kel. His film credits include The Out-of-Towners (1970), The Wiz (1978) and Life (1999).
He began his career as a singer and nightclub performer, and appeared on Broadway in Golden Boy (1964) with Sammy Davis Jr. Brown was the father of actress Sharon Brown. He died in Los Angeles in 2022.
