Biography
Johnny Iguana, also credited as Brian Berkowitz, is an American composer and pianist. He grew up in Philadelphia and adopted his stage name as a teenager. In 1994 he moved to Chicago after joining the band of blues musician Junior Wells, with whom he toured for several years.
Iguana has worked for more than two decades with composer and producer Jeffrey “JQ” Qaiyum. Together they wrote and recorded the original score for the FX series The Bear (2022–), contributing instrumental pieces used primarily in kitchen scenes across the first four seasons. Iguana is a co-founder of the band The Claudettes and has recorded and performed extensively in the Chicago blues scene.
