Biography
Johnny Leeze was a British television and film actor. Born John Harold Glen on 31 December 1941 in York, Yorkshire, he adopted the stage name Johnny Leeze and appeared in numerous British television series from the early 1980s until 2007.
He is best known for playing Ned Glover in the soap opera Emmerdale from 1994 to 2000, with brief returns in 1999 and 2000, and Harry Clayton in Coronation Street in 1985. Other credits include Inspector Cox in The League of Gentlemen (2000), roles in Open All Hours (1982), four appearances in Last of the Summer Wine (1983–2002), Duggy Hayes in Phoenix Nights (2001), Bill Cooper in Early Doors (2003), and Meter Man in Life on Mars (2007). His only film role was as a journalist in Blow Dry (2001).
Leeze died on 25 October 2020, aged 78.
