Biography
Jon Batiste is an American composer, musician and bandleader. He composed and performed the jazz sequences for the Pixar animated film Soul (2020), working alongside Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross on the overall score. The film’s soundtrack earned him shared Academy Award, Golden Globe, Grammy and BAFTA awards for Best Original Score.
Batiste is also known for his work on The Garfield Movie (2024), Saturday Night (2024) and the documentary American Symphony (2023). He trained at the Juilliard School and served as bandleader and musical director for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert from 2015 to 2022.
