Biography
Jon Opstad is a British composer of music for film, television, video games, contemporary dance and concert works. He studied music at the University of Cambridge and graduated with an MA in film composition from the National Film and Television School. Based in London, his scores frequently combine acoustic instruments with electronics and analogue synthesisers.
Opstad is known for his work on the Black Mirror episodes White Bear (2013) and White Christmas (2014). Other television credits include Bodies (2023), The Veil (2024, co-composed with Max Richter), Thirteen (2016), The Woman in White (2018), We Hunt Together and The Feed (2019). He has composed for the video game Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege since 2018. His score for the contemporary dance work Ignis (2014) received a British Composer Award nomination.
