Biography
Jon Zazula, also known as Jonny Z, was an American music industry executive. With his wife Marsha, he founded Megaforce Records in New Jersey after running the Rock N Roll Heaven record store. The label released Metallica's first two albums, Kill 'Em All (1983) and Ride the Lightning (1984), and worked with artists including Anthrax and Anvil.
Zazula appeared as himself in the 2008 documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil, credited as Self – Manager of Metallica, Anthrax, Anvil. He died on 1 February 2022 in Clermont, Florida.
