Biography
Jonathan Herman is an American screenwriter. Born in 1973 in Connecticut, he began working in the film industry in the mid-2000s, initially in support roles before selling spec scripts.
Herman received his first major screen credit for the 2015 biopic Straight Outta Compton, on which he shared the screenplay with Andrea Berloff. The film earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay, as well as nominations from the Writers Guild of America and other bodies.
