Biography
Jonathan I. Kidd is a television writer and producer. He frequently collaborates with writing partner Sonya Winton-Odamtten. Their credits include episodes of NCIS: New Orleans (2014–2015), Touch (2012), Wicked City (2015) and Lovecraft Country (2020), on which Kidd served as teleplay writer and co-executive producer.
Kidd was born in Mansfield, Ohio. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in African American Studies and English, and a PhD from Yale University. Before entering television, he worked as a college professor, playwright and documentarian. He and Winton-Odamtten joined the Warner Bros. Television Writers' Workshop in 2009. In 2019 they signed an overall deal with HBO.
Kidd received a GLAAD Award nomination for an episode of NCIS: New Orleans and an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series as part of the Lovecraft Country team.
