Biography
Jonathan Wilson is a British television writer. He began his screenwriting career on the Scottish continuing drama series River City (2013–2017), for which he received a Scottish BAFTA nomination in the Writer Film/Television category in 2016.
Wilson worked on the Netflix series The Crown (2016) across multiple seasons from 2019 to 2023, serving as staff writer, senior staff writer and head writer. He wrote four episodes, including season 4 episode “Fagan” and three episodes in the final season. He won a Writers’ Guild of America Award in 2021 for his work on the series and was nominated for another WGA Award for the final season.
He has since contributed to season 3 of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022) and worked in the writers’ room for the Outlander prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood (2025), on which he is credited as consulting producer.
