Biography
Jordan Harrison is an American playwright and screenwriter. He grew up on Bainbridge Island, Washington, and holds a BA from Stanford University (1999) and an MFA from Brown University, where he studied with Paula Vogel.
His play Marjorie Prime premiered at the Mark Taper Forum in 2014 and was a finalist for the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Drama; a film adaptation followed in 2017. He wrote for three seasons of the Netflix series Orange Is the New Black (2015–2017) as writer-producer and created the AMC series Dispatches from Elsewhere (2020).
Harrison has received a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Hodder Fellowship, the Kesselring Prize and the Horton Foote Prize. He is an alumnus of New Dramatists and lives in Brooklyn, New York.
