Biography
Jordan Kerner is an American film producer. Born in Los Angeles on 5 February 1950, he began his career in television at the CBS affiliate KPIX in San Francisco in 1971. He later worked in law and in development roles at CBS, Universal/NBC and ABC before forming the Avnet/Kerner production company with Jon Avnet in 1986.
Kerner’s feature credits include Less than Zero (1987), Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), The Mighty Ducks (1992) and its sequels, George of the Jungle (1997), Inspector Gadget (1999), Charlotte’s Web (2006) and the Smurfs films (2011–2017). He has also produced for television and served as Dean of the School of Filmmaking at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
