Biography
Jorge Garcia is an American actor and comedian. Born on 28 April 1973 in Omaha, Nebraska, he grew up in Southern California and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1995 with a degree in communication studies. He also studied acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. He first gained notice for his role as Hector Lopez on the television series Becker.
Garcia became widely known for portraying Hugo 'Hurley' Reyes on the series Lost (2004–2010), a character created for him after producers saw his appearance on Curb Your Enthusiasm. He has appeared in films including Click (2006), The Wedding Ringer (2015) and The Ridiculous 6 (2015), and in series such as Hawaii Five-0 (2010–2020) as Jerry Ortega, Alcatraz (2012), Once Upon a Time (2011–2012) and Bookie (2023–2025).
Garcia has received ALMA Awards for his work on Lost and is also a stand-up comedian.
