Biography
Jorma Markkula (1945–2024) was a Finnish actor and theatre director. He studied at the drama studio of Tampere University from 1966 to 1971, having previously worked as a journalist. His theatre career included engagements at Kajaanin kaupunginteatteri and Seinäjoen kaupunginteatteri, where he served as an actor-director in the 1980s, as well as periods as a freelance artist and regional arts official.
Markkula appeared in more than twenty films between 1981 and 2013, primarily in supporting roles. His credits include Syöksykierre (1981), The Worthless (1982), The Clan – Tale of the Frogs (1984) and Ariel (1988), in which he played the tallyman. He was married to actress Marja-Sisko Aimonen.
