Biography
Jorma Tommila is a Finnish actor. He studied at the Helsinki Theatre Academy, where in 1987 he was one of four founding members of the experimental theatre group God's Theater. The group's radical performances led to the members' arrest, fines, suspended prison sentences and expulsion from the academy.
Tommila won the Jussi Award for Best Actor in 1997 for his performance in The Christmas Party (1996), directed by fellow God's Theater founder Jari Halonen. He is known for his role as Aatami Korpi in Sisu (2022) and Sisu: Road to Revenge (2025), as well as appearances in Big Game (2014) and Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010). He won the Best Actor award at the Sitges Film Festival in 2022 for Sisu. He is married to actress Ida Helander-Tommila, sister of director Jalmari Helander.
