Biography

José Garcia, also credited as José Luis Garcia or José Doval Garcia, is a Spanish-French actor. Born José Doval in Paris on 17 March 1966, he trained at the Cours Florent with Francis Huster, the Annie Fratellini Circus School and an Actors Studio course in France. He holds an accounting qualification and began his career in 1989.

Garcia first gained prominence through television appearances, notably alongside Antoine de Caunes on the Canal+ programme Nulle Part Ailleurs. He is known for his roles as Serge Benhamou in the Would I Lie to You? films (1997 and 2001), Couverdepus in Asterix at the Olympic Games (2008), Etienne Forcier in Now You See Me (2013), Victor Gamieux in Bastille Day (2016) and Biopix in Asterix & Obelix: The Middle Kingdom (2023). He has appeared in more than forty-five films and over twenty television productions.
