Biography
José Torvay was a Mexican actor. Born on 28 January 1909 in Durango, Mexico, he appeared in more than 140 films, primarily as a supporting player during the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and in occasional Hollywood productions.
He is known for his role as Pablo in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948), Captain Alvarado in The Hitch-Hiker (1953), and appearances in Enamorada (1946) as Maestro Apolonio Sánchez, Two Mules for Sister Sara (1970), and Chisum (1970). Torvay also worked in France and took on a wide range of character roles, including police officers, military figures and civilians.
