Biography
Joseph Lee, also credited as Joeyun Lee or Lee Joe-yun, is an American actor and visual artist. He was born on 29 December 1987 and raised in West Lafayette, Indiana. He studied political science and history at Purdue University, where he began performing in theatre.
Lee made his feature film debut in Searching (2018). He is best known for playing George Nakai in the Netflix series Beef (2023), for which he received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Other credits include Star Trek: Picard (2023) as Lt. Mura, Rizzoli & Isles (2014) as Eric Chen, and Materialists (2025) as Trevor. He has also appeared in the South Korean drama The Miracle We Met (2018).
Alongside acting, Lee works as a self-taught painter based in Los Angeles, with his artwork exhibited internationally.
