Biography
Joseph Mangine (1933–2006) was an American cinematographer. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he began his career shooting surfing and adventure documentaries after working as a stunt parachute specialist.
He served as director of photography on films including The Lords of Flatbush (1974), Squirm (1976), Alligator (1980), Alone in the Dark (1982) and The Sword and the Sorcerer (1982). He also directed Smoke and Flesh (1968) and Neon Maniacs (1986). His later credits included episodes of the television series Swamp Thing (1991–1993) and the documentary Ralph Bunche: An American Odyssey (2001).
