Biography
Joseph Morgan is an English actor. Born Joseph Martin in London in 1981, he spent part of his childhood in Swansea, Wales, and trained at Gower College Swansea before studying at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
He appeared in supporting roles in the films Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) and Alexander (2004), and in British television series including Hex and The Line of Beauty. Morgan gained prominence playing Klaus Mikaelson on the series The Vampire Diaries from 2011, reprising the role as the lead in its spin-off The Originals (2013–2018). He has since appeared in Animal Kingdom, Brave New World, Titans and Halo.
Morgan is married to actress Persia White, whom he met on the set of The Vampire Diaries.
