Biography

Joseph Mullendore was an American composer and arranger. Born on 21 October 1914 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he studied at the Philadelphia Conservatory. He began his career as an arranger before composing and orchestrating for film and television from the 1950s onwards.

Mullendore provided music for numerous television series in the 1960s, including scoring 48 episodes of The Dick Powell Theatre (1961–1963), 63 episodes of Burke's Law (1963–1965) and the theme and 28 episodes of Honey West (1965–1966). He composed the score for the Star Trek (1966) episode 'The Conscience of the King', with portions reused in later episodes. He was also orchestrator on The Shaggy Dog (1959). He received Emmy nominations for his television work.

Mullendore died on 19 June 1990 in Pasadena, California.
