Biography
Joseph Sistrom (1912–1966) was an American film producer. Born in Chicago, he was the son of producer William Sistrom. After graduating from Stanford University he worked as an assistant to producer Pandro S. Berman before joining Paramount Pictures.
At Paramount he produced Wake Island (1942) and Double Indemnity (1944), both nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Other credits include Incendiary Blonde (1945), The Atomic City (1952) and Pocketful of Miracles (1961), on which he served as associate producer. He also produced for television and collaborated frequently with director John Farrow.
