Biography
Josephine the Monkey was an animal actor who appeared in several silent films of the late 1920s. Credited variously as Jocko the Monkey or Josephine, the animal performed uncredited roles in Harold Lloyd’s The Kid Brother (1927) and Buster Keaton’s The Cameraman (1928).
Contemporary sources identify the same monkey in both films, noting its appearances in a sailor suit. It is also listed in credits for The Devil Dancer (1927).
