Biography
Josh Ryan Evans, also credited as Joshua Ryan Evans, was an American actor. He played the 8-Year-Old Grinch in the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Born on 10 January 1982 in Hayward, California, Evans had achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism, and stood 3 feet 2 inches tall. He began his career in television commercials as a child and appeared in guest roles on series including Ally McBeal as Oren Koolie and voice work on Hey Arnold! and Rugrats. From 1999 he portrayed Timmy Lenox, a living doll, on the soap opera Passions, earning a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2000 and two Soap Opera Digest Awards in 2000 and 2001.
Evans died on 5 August 2002 in San Diego, California, aged 20, during surgery to correct a congenital heart condition.
