Biography
Joshua James Richards is a British cinematographer. He studied film at Bournemouth University and at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
Richards has frequently collaborated with director Chloé Zhao. Their joint credits include Songs My Brothers Taught Me (2015), The Rider (2017) and Nomadland (2020). He also shot Francis Lee’s God’s Own Country (2017). For Nomadland he received a BAFTA Award for Best Cinematography and an Academy Award nomination.
