Biography
Joy Wilkinson is a British screenwriter, playwright and author. She was born in Burnley, Lancashire.
She wrote for several BBC series including Doctors (2006–2012), Casualty (2006), Holby City (2006) and Land Girls (2011). In 2012 she adapted The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby as a five-part miniseries for BBC One. Wilkinson wrote the Doctor Who episode 'The Witchfinders' (2018) and later novelised it for the Target Collection.
Her stage work includes the plays Britain’s Best Recruiting Sergeant, Fair and The Sweet Science of Bruising (2018). On television she has written episodes of The Watch (2021) and three episodes of Lockwood & Co. (2023).
