Biography
Joyce Hooper Corrington is an American film and television writer. Born on 5 August 1936 in Harris County, Texas, she earned a PhD in chemistry from Tulane University and taught at Xavier University of Louisiana before turning to screenwriting.
With her husband John William Corrington, she wrote the screenplays for Von Richthofen and Brown (1971), The Omega Man (1971), Boxcar Bertha (1972), The Arena (1974) and Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973), as well as the television film Killer Bees (1974). She later worked extensively in daytime television, co-creating the soap opera Texas and serving as head writer on series including Search for Tomorrow, General Hospital and One Life to Live. She has also worked as a producer on The Real World.
