Biography

Juan Diego Botto is an Argentine-Spanish actor and director. He was born on 29 August 1975 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and moved to Spain with his mother, the actress and acting coach Cristina Rota, in 1978. He began acting as a child and appeared in early films before gaining attention with a role in the 1995 film Stories from the Kronen.

Botto has starred in films including Martín (Hache) (1997), 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992), Bordertown (2007) and The Suicide Squad (2021). He played the Photographer in The Room Next Door (2024). He has also worked extensively in television, including Good Behavior (2016) and White Lines (2020), and made his feature directorial debut with On the Fringe (2022), which he also wrote and starred in. He is married to journalist and writer Olga Rodríguez.
