Biography
Jules Verne was a French novelist and playwright. Born on 8 February 1828 in Nantes, he died on 24 March 1905 in Amiens.
He wrote adventure novels including Around the World in Eighty Days (1873), the source for the 1956 film of the same name. Other works later adapted for film include Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864), Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870) and Mysterious Island (1874).
