Biography

Junior LaBeija (born 1957) is a ballroom performer and activist from Harlem, New York. Born James Goode Jr., he has been a member of the House of LaBeija for more than fifty years and served as emcee at the Paris is Burning ball.

He appeared as himself in the 1990 documentary Paris Is Burning. Archive footage of LaBeija was included in the 2020 film Disclosure. In 2026 he made his Broadway debut as Gus in Cats: The Jellicle Ball.
