Biography
Jüri Lumiste is an Estonian actor and theatre director. He was born on 16 July 1957 in Tartu.
Lumiste completed secondary education in Tartu in 1975 and briefly studied mathematics at Tartu State University. He trained at the Hermaküla studio, graduating in 1979, and participated in workshops in Russia, Turkey, Finland, Denmark, Japan and Germany. From 1993 to 1999 he served as drama director of the Vanemuine Theatre in Tartu.
His screen credits include the role of Obersturmführer in Elem Klimov's Come and See (1985), as well as appearances in Estonian television series and films such as Kättemaksukontor and Kelgukoerad.
