Biography
Justina Ireland is an American writer of young adult science fiction and fantasy novels, as well as screenplays. She served as a staff writer on the Netflix miniseries The Fall of the House of Usher (2023), for which she also received a teleplay credit on one episode.
Ireland holds a BA in history from Armstrong Atlantic State University and an MFA in writing for children and young adults from Hamline University. Her novels include the New York Times bestseller Dread Nation (2018) and its sequel Deathless Divide (2020). She has contributed to the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project and written comics. Ireland previously edited FIYAH Literary Magazine and has received a World Fantasy Award and a Locus Award.
