Biography
Kambiz Roshanravan (born 9 June 1949) is an Iranian composer, conductor and musician. Born in Tehran, he studied at the National Conservatory of Music and the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran. He later earned a master's degree in music composition from the University of Southern California.
Roshanravan began his film work with the score for The Traveler (1974), directed by Abbas Kiarostami, and has composed music for more than 100 films, television series and animations. His credits include Close-Up (1990), again for Kiarostami, as well as films by directors including Amir Naderi and Pouran Derakhshandeh. He has also written orchestral, chamber and vocal works, and authored texts on music theory.
