Biography
Kaori Makita is a Japanese animation director and episode director. She is credited on the television series Attack on Titan (2013) and has directed episodes of Banana Fish (2018) and Yuri!!! on Ice (2016). She has also worked as a storyboard artist and assistant director on several series.
Makita directed the 2020 film Twittering Birds Never Fly: The Clouds Gather and the web series Kakegurui Twin (2022). She served as series director on Hell's Paradise (2023) and as second unit director on The Rose of Versailles (2025). She is affiliated with the studio MAPPA and is from Shizuoka, Japan.
