Biography
Karim Diané (also credited as Karim Diane) is an American actor and singer born on 26 April 2002 in Washington, District of Columbia. Of West African Mandingo descent, he first gained attention as a contestant on The X Factor USA in 2013. He built an online following under the name 'Team Karim' through weekly YouTube videos of himself singing in the shower.
After the competition, Diané moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. He appeared in a recurring role as Blue in the series StartUp (2017) and as Kris Greene in two seasons of One of Us Is Lying (2021–2022). Other credits include Princess of the Row (2019).
Diané portrays Jay-Den Kraag, a Klingon cadet, in the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy (2026). He is noted as playing the franchise's first openly gay Klingon character.
