Biography
Karl Michael Vogler was a German actor. Born in Remscheid in 1928, he grew up in Bregenz, Austria, and trained as an actor in Innsbruck, where he made his stage debut in 1950. He performed in classical theatre roles in Germany, including at the Münchner Kammerspiele between 1958 and 1964, before moving into film and television in the late 1950s.
Vogler appeared in several international productions in the 1960s and 1970s. These included Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines (1965), The Blue Max (1966) as Colonel Otto Heidemann, Downhill Racer (1969), Patton (1970) as Field Marshal Erwin Rommel, and Shout at the Devil (1976). He was also active in German television, with a lead role in the series Kara Ben Nemsi Effendi (1973–1975) and numerous appearances in series such as Derrick.
Vogler worked extensively in German film and television until the mid-2000s and died in 2009.
