Biography
Karoline Herfurth is a German actress and filmmaker. She was born on 22 May 1984 in East Berlin and trained at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin.
Herfurth made her screen debut in 2000 and appeared in early German films including Mädchen, Mädchen (2001). She gained international recognition for her role as the Plum Girl in Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006) and as Marthe in The Reader (2008). Other notable performances include Lisi Schnabelstedt in the Suck Me Shakespeer films (2013–2015) and Lena in We Are the Night (2010).
She received the Bavarian Film Award for best young actress in 2009 for her role in A Year Ago in Winter. Herfurth made her directorial debut with SMS für Dich (2016) and has since directed and starred in several further features.
