Biography
Karyl Miller, also credited as Karyl Geld Miller or Karyl Geld, is an American television writer and producer. She wrote two episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1973–1974). Her other writing credits include episodes of Maude (1975), Diff'rent Strokes (1979), The Cosby Show (1984), Kate & Allie (1985), and My Sister Sam (1986–1988), on which she also served as supervising producer.
Miller won a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Writing in a Variety or Music Program for the 1973 CBS special Lily, starring Lily Tomlin. She received additional writing credits on variety specials and series such as The Lily Tomlin Show (1973), Cher (1975), and Maggie (1982). She has also worked as a political cartoonist and commentator, and has served as president of the Southern California Cartoonists Society since 2011.
