Biography
Kate Byers is a British actor and producer. She began her career as an actor, appearing in films including Career Girls (1997) as Claire and No Child of Mine (1997) as Matty, and collaborated with directors Mike Leigh, Roger Michell and Mike Alfreds.
Byers trained in script development in 2005 and worked with South West Screen on Digital Shorts and the BBC Dennis Potter Award. She co-founded the Bristol-based production company Early Day Films with Linn Waite. Their feature debut Bait (2019), which she produced, won the Breakthrough Producer award at the British Independent Film Awards. She has since produced or executive produced further features and shorts including Enys Men (2022) and The Severed Sun (2024). She also appears in Bait as Wenna's Mum.
