Biography
Kate Harwood is a British television producer. She graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Drama and Theatre Arts in 1981, later becoming an Arts Council Trainee director with Century Theatre and Literary Manager of the Royal Court Theatre.
Harwood spent over 15 years at the BBC, working as script editor, script executive and executive producer in the Drama Serials department. As producer she worked on David Copperfield (1999) and the BAFTA-winning Charles II: The Power and the Passion (2003). As executive producer she oversaw series including Daniel Deronda (2002), The Lost World (2001), EastEnders (2005–2007), Cranford (2007–2009) and Tess of the D'Urbervilles (2008).
In 2014 she became managing director of the revived Euston Films, a position she held until 2024. She later joined Element Pictures as executive producer.
