Biography
Kater Gordon is an American television writer. She began her career in production roles on films including Just My Luck (2006) and Enchanted (2007), and worked as a production assistant on television series such as Third Watch.
Gordon joined the crew of the AMC series Mad Men as a writing assistant in 2008. She was promoted to staff writer for the third season and received writing credits on episodes including the season two finale "Meditations in an Emergency", which she co-wrote with series creator Matthew Weiner.
In 2009, Gordon won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for "Meditations in an Emergency". The Mad Men writing staff, including Gordon, received a Writers Guild of America Award for Best Drama Series in 2010. She left the series after its third season and later founded the nonprofit Modern Alliance to address workplace harassment.
