Biography
Katherine Squire (9 March 1903 – 29 March 1995) was an American actress. Born in Defiance, Ohio, she attended Ohio Wesleyan University and trained at the American Laboratory Theater after beginning her career in regional theatre at the Cleveland Play House. She made her Broadway debut in 1927 in Much Ado About Nothing and appeared in numerous stage productions through the 1950s.
Squire worked extensively in television from the 1950s, with guest roles in series including The Twilight Zone (1959 and 1962), Perry Mason (1957–1965), The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (1962–1965) and Adam-12 (1968). Her film credits include Ride in the Whirlwind (1966), Two-Lane Blacktop (1971) as the Old Woman, and When Harry Met Sally... (1989). She was married to actors Byron McGrath and George Mitchell.
