Biography
Kathy Speer is an American television writer and producer. She wrote episodes of the sitcom Benson (1979) and served as co-producer on the series. She wrote multiple episodes of The Golden Girls (1985) and worked as producer and later co-executive producer across its run.
With her husband and writing partner Terry Grossman, Speer was head writer on The Golden Girls. She co-created the series The Fanelli Boys (1990), Pacific Station (1991) and The Mommies (1993). She received two Primetime Emmy Awards for her producing work on The Golden Girls.
