Biography
Kawsar Al Haddad is a Lebanese actress. She is known for playing Souad, the mother of the central character, in Nadine Labaki’s 2018 film Capernaum.
Born in 1972 in Wadi Khaled, Lebanon, she moved with her family to Kuwait as a child and returned to Beirut in 1990. She has worked in low-paid jobs including as a housekeeper. In 2016 she was discovered by the film’s casting director while caring for orphaned children in Beirut.
